Our Work in 2013

OUR WORK IN 2013

Over the year, we worked with 22 countries, 359 participants and delivered projects in 8 different countries. From a training course focussed around climate change in Armenia to youth exchanges with visually impaired young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The year consisted of delivering training courses, youth exchanges and consultation services. The projects we delivered this year were:

Act Global is based the UK and Indonesia, so statistically we tend to engage with more people from these countries. This year, we worked five weeks in Kyrgyzstan collaborating with 9 youth centres across the country. For this reason, we also worked with many people in Kyrgyzstan.

Also, over the course of 2013 we have sent young people from the UK to volunteer in Azerbaijan and Italy (Sardinia). Our volunteers are spending 12 months in Italy and 10 months in Baku, Azerbaijan with the Azerbaijan Students Union. So far, these placements have allowed them to create their own projects and have an internship with the local United Nations office. In Italy, our volunteer is delivering cultural projects in schools in Cagliari, Sardinia and will be working toward supporting a major festival on the island.
