The EVS volunteers have spent 4 months in Bali and it was time to evaluate their stay and how they adjust their lives to the local life. Adriano, Kristina, Pagona, and Sofia came to Bali without knowing much about Indonesia, especially Bali. It was also their first time in Asia. Having a different culture and then came to a country which can’t be defined with only one culture, they had to adapt to Indonesia and Balinese way of living.

Youth Network for Social Entrepreneurship is a-two-years capacity building project, funded by European Commission through Erasmus+ programme. Since its kick-off meeting in India in November 2017, the project has been running for more than half of its period and the mid-term meeting in Bali, Indonesia gave a chance to reflect and evaluating the implementation of the running project while at the same time discussing the activities in the remainder of the project.

Sometimes we lose ourselves in the immensity of the human mind. We forgot to live in the present and that everything is ephemeral. Feelings, people, places, relationships, everything will eventually disappear. Maybe, that’s why suffering is the best thing they’ve taught us: with suffering we create in ourselves an uncomfortable space, a space where we don’t know ourselves anymore, so, the only thing we can do is to drive all our strengths to change and grow beyond what we thought it was possible.

It was a kind of requirement when I was looking for a house, but here it was a coincidence. It has always seemed to me the perfect place to draw, to have a conversation, to mend a pair of pants or just to be.
