On the 5th of March, Yayasan Act Global Indonesia hosted a one-day open event to discuss the upcoming opportunities for Indonesians to engage in professional development and overseas mobility. This event was also the launch pad for the project ‘Euro-Asi- capitalising experience in Youth work’ as well as sharing other project that had and are happening between Asia and Europe.
We had promoted the event 2 weeks before and gain a high interested in attendance, however on the day there was a terrible storm that limited some participation. Despite weather condition, about 22 people attended the event whom also expressed further interest in attending the upcoming training.
The event discussed the upcoming opportunities available for Indonesians from the soon to be starting training course to opportunities to later engage in EVS and Job Shadowing. The day was also an opportunity for current EVS volunteers supported by TDM to showcase their current projects and activities. Moreover, our Indonesian members who had volunteered with TDM in Sardinia shared their experience giving participants the idea of what it would be like to engage in EVS in Europe.
Overall, the event was a great success with participants asking further questions about how to engage, what the course will offer etc. The main concerns for participants were the 30% they needed to fund raise in order to participate in the mobility projects such as EVS or Job Shadowing. We explained that this is just the rules and limitations of this particular project but other expenses such as accommodation and food would be covered.
Those in attendance were very excited about the upcoming training and value the opportunity for some free personal development training and the chance to learn further about the NGO sector from professional trainers.
