CSII Conference – Community Seniors Involved International

On Monday, 30 May 2022 the CSII (Community Seniors Involved International) Conference was held at STMIK Primakara. This activity lasted for 2 hours and was attended by 31 participants. In this conference, 4 main events were held:

  1. Introduction to Act Global and the CSII Project. 
  2. Local Project CSII Batch 1 and Batch 2 activities. 
  3. CSII Local Project Partner activities. 
  4. The delivery of the CSII Training Course in the Philippines by Batch 1 and Batch 2. 

The first activity was the introduction of Act Global and what the CSII Project is by Dimas Fadhilah Aprilian Santosa. CSII Batch 1 was attended by Mellynia Putri, Chika Mega, Nataria Miracle, Kurnia Wardani, and Asa Onsai which was held from 7 April 2022 to 13 April 2022 in Bataan Philippines. Meanwhile, CSII Batch 2 was attended by Nevy Widya Pangestika, Dimas Fadhilah Aprilian Santosa, Ni Wayan Kariasih, Ni Putu Mia Puriyanti, and Gede Martha which was held from 20 May 2022 to 27 May 2022 in Bagac, Bataan, Philippines. 

Next is the delivery of local projects from CSII Batch 1 and Batch 2. The local project activities carried out by CSII Batch 1 are as follow:

  1. Mellynia Putri with the local project “Otago Exercise Program (OEP)”, 
  2. Nataria Miracle with the local project “Re(Call) the Past”, 
  3. Kurnia Wardani with the local project “Living the Life with Art: With Mr. I Made Sudibia”, 
  4. Asa Onsai with the local project “Nourish Batik as Indonesian Culture by Learning from Senior”, and 
  5. Chika Mega with the local project “Conversation with a Man of Passion”. 

Local project activities carried out by CSII Batch 2 are as follow:

  1. Nevy Widya Pangestika with the local project “What I Learned Through Eid Talk with Seniors: a CSII Project”, 
  2. Dimas Fadhilah Aprilian Santosa with the local project “Preserving ‘Satay Lilit’ as our Local Dish for Generation Connecting Activities”, 
  3. Ni Wayan Kariasih with the local project “Learning Mejejaitan to Build and Improve Communications Between Young People and the Elderly in Banjar Prapat”, 
  4. Ni Putu Mia Puriyanti with the local project “Learn to Organize Across Generations”, and 
  5. Gede Martha with local project “Traveling Abroad Through Virtual Reality”. 

Next was the delivery of the CSII Batch 1 Training Course activities followed by Indonesia, Lithuania, the Philippines, and Uzbekistan. In general, the activities are a Training Course by Mrs. Rose Mary Cruz and Dr. Donaly Lastima. Team Building, Group Discussion and Games. Presentation of Respective Organizations Participating in CSII Philippines. Lecturer by Ms. Elly Explained the Cultural Differences Between the West and the East. Presentation of the Respective Countries Stereotype. Group Discussion: Making a Program for Senior Citizens. Blindfold Balloon Game. Visited Aeta Magbukun Community and Intercultural Night. 

Meanwhile, the CSII Batch 2 Training Course was attended by Indonesia, the Philippines and Lithuania. In general, the activities are Workshop with Seniors of Barangay Pag-Asa, Visiting the Seniors of Ayta Magbukun, Planning and Setting Up Activities For Seniors and Youth, Reaching Seniors and Youth In Public, Presenting Stories/Activities with Seniors and Youth, Utilizing Visual Materials for Seniors, Working with Seniors Through Technology, Online Means to Reach Seniors, Funding and Implementing Social Initiatives for Seniors and Youth, Pitching Social Initiatives to Public, Project Proposal Writing, Project Implementation to Local Community, and Cultural Night. 

The activity was then closed with the delivery of lessons learned from each participant of CSII Batch 1 and Batch 2, most of the participants said that they can learn from all generations, and for some of them, it was their first time to go abroad, so it was also broadening their view of the world.
